Procurement Manager

As Procurement Manager you will review and provide improved structure to purchasing activities for a broad range of parts, consumables and service provision, ensuring efficient quote to delivery processes, on time delivery and optimal cost control.

Key responsibilities:

  • Build relationships with all relevant suppliers and manufacturers to ensure we achieve best value quality in parts and consumable purchases
  • Develop and manage optimal supply chain network
  • Undergo periodic tender programmes to ensure cost optimisation throughout the supply chain
  • Ensure highest levels of internal and external customer service excellence are adhered to
  • Maintain and develop procurement practices that support our CSR commitment.
  • Any other duties commensurate with the role that may be required.

Professional membership / qualifications / experience:

  • Commercially astute with proven budget management experience
  • Good communicator and relationship manager
  • Skilled negotiator with a successful track record in securing best value
  • Analytical with the ability to monitor and interrogate management information
  • Previous experience at management level in related field essential

This role will involve regular travel therefore a full UK driving licence is essential.


Regional Contracts Manager (South)

This is a great opportunity to join our operational leadership team.  You’ll shape, influence and implement organisational change and performance improvement across our workshops.

You’ll bring a minimum of 2 years’ management experience of multi-depot maintenance facilities and be a member of relevant professional organisations.

Key responsibilities:

  • Ensure Health & Safety and Fleet compliance
  • Leadership of the service centre managers in your region
  • Full budget responsibility for your area of control
  • Developing client relationships and contract management
  • Responsible for contract hire vehicles within the term contracts you manage


  • Proven leadership and staff development skills
  • 2 years’ management experience of multi-depot maintenance facilities
  • IOSH/NEBOSH Health and Safety certificate
  • HGV Licence
  • Certificate of Professional Competence – Road Haulage (National)
  • HNC/HND/City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in associated technical field.

This is a multi-site role which will involve regular travel, therefore a full UK driving licence is essential.

Vehicle/Fleet Procurement Manager

You will be responsible for:

  • Purchasing the best value vehicles without compromising quality of service
  • Delivering budget savings through strong negotiations informed by vehicle and market rate expertise

  • Staying up to date with latest vehicle technology available to enhance safety and efficiency

Workshop Manager, Harrow

Job Description

As Workshop Manager you will be required to control the maintenance of fleet and associated plant coming through our workshop in line with company policies. You will plan and organise the work flow in an efficient and safe manner, and achieve or improve the workshop budget target.

Key responsibilities:

  • Planning duties and managing a team of experienced HGV Technicians on a two-shift system
  • Negotiating with suppliers and parts department
  • Quality checks
  • Organising holidays and shift cover
  • Control of work in progress
  • Control of recharges to customers
  • Liaising directly with the customer fleet manager.
  • Health and Safety control.
  • Manage MOT testing.
  • Manage a team of 2 administration staff.

Professional membership / qualifications / experience:

To be considered for the role of Workshop Manager for Go Plant Fleet Services Ltd, you will have experience working with a large fleet of commercial vehicles, preferably coming from a hands-on background.

A municipal background would be advantageous.

Technical knowledge and people management skills along with a real passion for the automotive industry as a whole is essential for this role. The ideal candidate will have fleet maintenance experience with excellent workshop planning skills.

HGV Technician, Harrow

Job Description

This is a great opportunity to join our fleet maintenance team. You will have opportunity to work on a range of vehicles from light commercial to HGV vehicles.

You’ll be an experienced HGV mechanic with a minimum of 5 years’ experience.

A DVSA /FTA Heavy Vehicle Inspection certificate is desirable.

Key responsibilities:

  • Carrying out Service, Maintenance and Repair of a mixed fleet of vehicles
  • Fault diagnosis
  • Completion of weekly vehicle inspections
  • Ensure Health & Safety compliance

Mobile Service Engineers

Due to ongoing expansion, we have a number of vacancies for high calibre, qualified mobile service engineers in most regions.

Job Description

We are looking for mobile service engineers, you will be required to work on a wide range of HGV and specialist vehicles. Your base will be in one of our regional workshops but you will be required to travel to our other workshops in the region as required.
Key responsibilities:

  • Carrying out Service, Maintenance and Repair on municipal vehicles such as road sweepers, refuse collection vehicles, gritters and gully emptiers
  • Fault diagnosis
  • Completion of vehicle inspections
  • Ensure Health & Safety compliance
  • Participation in callout rota will be required

Essential Requirements:
City & Guilds or NVQ level 3 HGV maintenance and repair as a minimum
Desirable Requirements:
Driving license category C or higher
